I love the way she phrases this. It feels as if life sometimes backs us into a corner. Ever noticed the idioms that refer to this…”backed myself into a corner”…”I turned the corner”…”they cornered me”… A lot of negative connotations in all of them.
Tippetts doesn’t use the “corner” negatively though. She recognizes the corner. She sees the angles all coming together to a point. Then…then she finds the wisdom in the darkest point of the corner. Kara Tippetts is a blogger and she is dying of cancer.
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise—
IN GOD I TRUST and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?” Ps 56:3-4
If you have time, and if you don’t mind a few tears crowding your eyes, her blog is humbling and illuminating. She is turning the corner between life and death. She is shining her light into one of the darkest corners our world has to offer and letting His LIGHT reflect on what she sees. An old 5th Dimension song comes to mind: “Of the angles and rhymes and the triangle lines, the feeling touching mine with time ” Sometimes, we need to look into the darkest corners, watch the angles, listen to the rhymes and remember to not be afraid — just trust God as our life song continues: “LOVE leads the lines of LOVE in circles and angles LOVE runs deep like a tunnel with a pendulum beat That touches the heart in many directions Moving the mind in silent reflection…”
